Now You Know The Stardate . . .

I wondered why today’s Stardate was showing up in my Google calendar. TechCrunch lept in with the explanation, so now you know what to do in case you want to join in the fun, too. Just be glad it doesn’t translate your appointments into Klingon.

Who’s Listening Anyway?

Tech blog Techcrunch reported over the weekend that music service Last.fm may have given the RIAA information about those users of Audioscrobbler who were listening to leaked U2 tracks.

Using Your Information Against You

Social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace reveal a lot of information about you.  For your friends, that’s a good way to keep in touch with each other.  For others, that’s a good source of details they can try to use against you.  Everybody has received scam or phishing emails by now, but enterprising folks have begun to mine data from social networking sites to use in these scams, as shown in this TechCrunch link (more…)
