Addictive iPhone game - Pebbles - Free for 30 Days

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Objective Development, makers of such great utilities as LaunchBar (my personal fave) and Little Snitch, are offering their addictive new iPhone/iPod touch game, Pebbles, absolutely free until the end of August. Furthermore, you can get both the Mac version and iPhone/iPod version free!

It’s a great little game, clever and quite addictive. You should definitely check one or both versions out. You just can’t beat the price (both are free).

$0.99 iPhone Game Sales

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Touch Arcade has done it again. Here’s a link to their article pointing out four games – Return to Mysterious Island, Galcon, Radio Flare, and Mecho Wars — currently on sale for a fraction of their “list” prices.

The only one I’m familiar with is the adventure game Return to Mysterious Island, which I’m reviewing for iPod Observer and happen to like a lot. I’ve recommended it when it was $4.99; at $0.99 it should be a no-brainer if you like puzzle/adventure style games.

Read about it (with links to the iTunes App store) here: $0.99 Sales | Touch Arcade.

Peggle Drops to $0.99 until June 14th

Peggle facts:

  1. MSNBC named it one of the “Top 5 most addictive computer games of all time.”
  2. It’s usually $4.99.
  3. It’s now priced at just $0.99 until June 14.
  4. It’s one of my favorite games… I’ve played it on my iPod Classic so much it’s wearing out.
  5. You really should buy a copy at this price.

Touch Arcade = Fun Fun Fun for iPhone & iPod touch

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

As you may know, in my copious spare time (ha!) I’m the Reviews Editor for the iPod Observer. As such part of my job is to test new apps for iPods and iPhones. I know - it’s a tough job but somebody has to do it. But believe it or not, there’s some work involved. Not much, but some. So when I want to find out what’s new in the world of iPhone (and iPod touch) games I usually start at the Touch Arcade Web site.

This excellent site features the latest news and reviews of iPod touch and iPhone games. I can’t tell you how many cool games I’ve found out about by visiting Touch Arcade. I even subscribe to the Touch Arcade RSS feed, so I hear about the new goodies almost as soon as Touch Arcade mentions them.

If you’re an iPod touch or iPhone user and you like games, why are you still here? Get over to Touch Arcade posthaste.

The obligatory iPhone game posting

Friday, February 6th, 2009

I just read a cool article at pocketgamer.co.uk called The 20 best free iPhone games. While I haven’t tried all 20 the ones I have tried are indeed really good… I plan to check out the remainder if I ever get caught up on my iPhone game reviews for iPodObserver.com.

Also, just got a note from the nice PR person at Astraware® informing me that the Handmark® Games Studio just reduced the prices of several premium games at App Store for a limited time. The games are Astraware Sudoku, Hellfire, Westward, and Platypus and they’re all reduced to $2.99.

Haven’t tried these yet but they look pretty good and cheaper is always better, so….
